Nickel Chrome Plating
In mild, medium and potentially severe corrosive environments, hard chromium has a high abrasion resistance, a low coefficient of friction and provides sufficient corrosion protection. However, when drastic operating conditions are combined with very aggressive environments and/or exposure periods are long and/or operating conditions are extreme, the protection offered may be insufficient.
Our proposal in these environments are the double layer Nickel-Chromium deposits, which consist of an electrochemical nickel layer on the base material, on which a hard chromium layer is added, improving the protection under extreme environmental conditions, maintaining the same characteristics of abrasion resistance and low friction coefficient of hard chromium.
• Nickel-Chrome is also used in dimensional recovery of parts due to severe wear.
PROPERTIES
The Nickel-Chromium deposit is based on duplex coatings, where the functional properties of two coatings are combined in a composite structure.
This coating combines the high ductility of nickel and its low internal stress, being cold applied processes, which allows it to maintain its integrity and anti-corrosion properties during prolonged periods in service; with hard chromium, which provides an excellent coating for the coating of the parts.
